Bringing the Social Media Revolution to Health Care
Posted on August 26th, 2011 by Admin
As I wrote late Wednesday, we were amazed and gratified at the response to our scholarship contest to choose five patient/caregiver representatives to participate in Social Media Week at Mayo Clinic in October. With 35 strong applicants, choosing the five recipients was a difficult job.
These five individuals will have travel and lodging expenses, along with complimentary registration, to come to our Mayo Clinic campus in Rochester, Minn. during the week of Oct. 17, 2011 to participate in the Social Media Summit, our Social Media Health Network member meeting and our first Social Media Residency. They also may bring a companion to all three events, although the scholarships do not include travel and lodging for the companion.
In alphabetical order, here are the five scholarship recipients. Click their names to view the essays they submitted for the contest.
If any of the recipients choose not to bring a companion, we will offer tuition-only scholarships to other candidates for any unused companion registrations. That announcement will be made in the next two weeks.
Thanks again to everyone who submitted essays as well as to those who voted online to help choose finalists, and to members of our seven-judge panel who made the final selections.
